Jean Yvonne Galusha-Bragg walked into the arms of Jesus on May 15, 2019.
Jean was born Aug. 26, 1937 in Roseau, Mn. to loving parents Raymond and Myrtle Dahl Pearson.
She spent her early years growing up on the farm in Roseau before the family moved to International Falls where she graduated from high school in May of 1954.
Jean married Jack Galusha in December of 1954 and made their home together in International Falls raising their two sons, Doug and Mike. Jean worked for the local telephone company as a telephone operator and clerk where she made many lifelong friends.
In their early years, the family enjoyed spending time out on the lake catching fish. In fact, Jean loved fishing so much, whenever she caught a fish she would hoot so loud, everyone on the lake knew where the hot spot was.
Jean was also an avid football and hockey fan, even attending two Minnesota Vikings games with her dad, sons, and grand-daughter, Jackie, in the Metrodome, and could be heard cheering on her favorite team where ever she was watching the game.
After Jack passed away, Jean found love again and married Norbert Bragg of Devlin, Ont. in May, 1998. They spent time together traveling, enjoying card parties with friends and neighbors, and camping with their fifth-wheel.
After Norbert passed away, Jean spent the last year of her life at the Riverside Health Centre in Emo, Ont. where she received excellent and compassionate care and was visited by many friends and family members.
She will be sadly missed by her two sons: Doug (Kathy) Galusha of International Falls and Mike (Jan) of Salol; four grandchildren, Jackie (Jason) Hovis of Princeton, Jodi (Scott) Sandstrom of Roseau, Paul (Victoria) Galusha of International Falls, and Cody Galusha (Simone) of Watford City, North Dakota; 10 great-grandchildren, Audrey, Trevor, William, Megan, Isabel, Jaxson, Nora, Tenley, Jack, and Lucas; cousin and best friend Joan (Ordean) Jensen and her beloved dog, Rexi.
Jean's parents, Raymond and Myrtle, and husbands, Jack and Norbert, preceded her in death.
To honor Jean's wishes, a private family graveside service will be held at the Falun Cemetery in Salol, Mn.
Jean loved dogs and to honour her memory, memorials may be sent to the Borderland Humane Society in International Falls, Mn.
