JANET MARGARET LEE

Janet Margaret Lee (nee Crowe), 69, passed away suddenly on March 11, 2020 after a brief battle with cancer.

Born Nov. 25, 1950 in Fort Frances to Danny and Margaret Crowe. She lived in Fort Frances her entire life, working various jobs, including 20 years at Rainycrest before taking a job at the United Native Friendship Centre. She loved her job and was heartbroken when she could no longer work due to her health and mobility issues. She missed her colleagues and her clients.

She was united in marriage to Brian Lee on Aug. 16, 1968. Together they had two daughters Sheena and Amanda. She enjoyed spending time with the family and it always brought a smile to her face when little ones came to visit. She especially got a kick out of zooming around the neighborhood with Maddox and Keelie riding on her wheelchair with her, asking her to “go faster Nana, go faster”. On nice days she liked to sit outside enjoying her flowers and the chipmunk who visited often. She usually had the company of Heather, Shawne or Brent. She also enjoyed knitting.

She leaves behind her husband of 51 years; daughters Sheena Henderson (Dean) of Blue Ridge, AB, Amanda (Dallas) Klassen of Chilliwack, B.C.; grandchildren Taylor Wilson, Thane Henderson both of Blue Ridge, AB, Brinna and Owen Klassen of Chilliwack, B.C.; great grandchildren Maddox and Keelie Wilson; sister Heather Crowe; brothers Robert Lee and Kelvin (Donna) Lee; sister-in-law Shawne Crowe; nephews Brent Crowe and Gordon Lee; nieces Tracy Bourassa and Aimee Beasley; in-laws Doug Lee, Lynn Kafus, Don Swanton and their families.

Janet was predeceased by her parents Danny and Margaret Crowe; siblings Jane Ann Baldwin, Dan Crowe Jr., Mary Ellen Crowe and Gerry Crowe; in-laws Audrey and Stewart (Red) Swanton, Gary Lee, Wayne Lee and Carson Baldwin and many other beloved family members.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2020 from 1 until 3 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 29.

The honourary pallbearers will be Ann Sinclair, Florence Lampi, Jeanette Easton, Shelley Ducharme, Arlene Byrnes, Julie Tinkness, June (Hall) Wilton and Janice Parks
