JAMES LLOYD BRUYERE

James Lloyd Bruyere, 34, of 29 Sandrigham Court, Brampton, Ont., passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer on May 17, 1998 at Peel Memorial Hospital in Brampton.

James was born Sept. 14, 1963 in Fort Frances, Ont., where he attended St. Francis and St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Separate Schools. After graduation from Fort Frances High School in 1981, he attended Confederation College in Thunder Bay in the Aviation Manufacturing Engineering Technology Program.

He was employed for the past 12 years as a senior manufacturing planner at de Havilland Aircraft Co. in Toronto, Ont.

He enjoyed playing on the de Havilland hockey team. He also cherished time spent with his family and friends, especially his beloved daughters.

Left to mourn his loss are his wife, Kelly, and daughters, Charalyn and Mikayla; parents, Shirley and Bruce Bruyere; three sisters, Leanne (Jeff) Paulson of Colfax, Wis., Susan (Alfonz) Koncan of Winnipeg, Man., and Christine (Mike) Krueger of Fort Frances; brothers, Todd (Cathy) of Fort Frances and Blake of Richmond, B.C.; maternal grandmother, Frances McPherson; three nieces, Frances Koncan, Lauren, and Morgan Krueger; two nephews, Tony Koncan and Jordan Bruyere; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He also is survived by his in-laws; and a special aunt, Sandy, of Brampton.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Alfred and Esther Bruyere; maternal grandfather, Alphonse McPherson; and nephew, Kevin Koncan.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 20, 1998 at 7 p.m. at the Simple Alternative Funeral Centre in Mississauga, Ont. Cremation followed.

A funeral mass will be held Thursday, May 28, 1998 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Couchiching First Nation, with Fr. Lorne MacDonald, O.M.I. officiating, with interment in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.

Honourary pallbearers will be Michael Coran, Pete Makarchuk Jr., Blair Lowey, Ray Calder, Donald Bruyere, Gary Bruyere, Kirk Bruyere, and Michael Krueger.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. If friends so desire, donations to the children may be made in trust to Kelly Bowes by contacting the Bruce Bruyere family.
