With broken hearts, we are sad to announce the untimely and unexpected passing of our beloved Jeff Scheibler (a.k.a. Pirate) on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017 at the young age of 39.
Born on March 10, 1978 in Fort Frances, Ont., he grew up in Red Lake, Ont. before finally settling in Thunder Bay, Ont.
Jeff was employed as a Lead Hand Paving Operator for Taranis Contracting Group Ltd. for the past eight years, where he was admired and very well-respected by all his peers.
Jeff is survived by his girlfriend, Julie Shostal, and step-children, Russell, Kolby, and Ethan; father, Jim (Maxine); siblings, Daniel (Marie), David (Charlene), Desiree (Patrick), Sekina, and Aaron; and numerous aunts, uncles, and his nephew, Brayden.
Jeff was predeceased by his mother, Joan; grandmother, Elizabeth; grandfather, Mervyn; and Opa John, Uncle Frank, and Auntie Linda.
Jeff enjoyed life to the fullest; he was always spontaneous, outgoing, and the life of the party. He loved his family and friends unconditionally.
He took great pride and joy in all his work endeavours and hobbies, always ensuring everything was to his high standards. His great work ethic made him excel at everything he did.
Jeff's warm and caring nature was shown in the way we wore his heart on his sleeve.
In his spare time, Jeff enjoyed landscaping, music, camping, friends, family, and sports of all kinds.
Cremation has taken place.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017 from 1-4 p.m. at The Moose Lodge 947, 434 Fort William Rd., Thunder Bay, Ont., for all who would like to join.
Pirate will be greatly and sadly missed by all who knew him.
