Isabel Harriet Harasymyk, 79, of Barwick, Ont., passed away Sunday, June 7, 1998 in Barwick.
Isabel was born May 6, 1919 in Emo, Ont. to the late William and Cora Wilson. She was raised in Barwick, and on Nov. 2, 1938 was united in marriage to Bill Harasymyk.
Together, Isabel and Bill raised their family in Barwick, where Isabel worked at the R.A. Gill Store for several years. She also worked as an operator for Bell Telephone and for Chapple Township.
She was a member of the Women’s Institute, and enjoyed quilting, sewing, flowers, and bird watching. Isabel especially enjoyed spending time with her family, and will be sadly missed by them.
She was predeceased by her husband, William “Bill” Harasymyk (June 29, 1993); two daughters, Jane Harasymyk and Marilyn Kreger; one son, Gerald “Gerry” Harasymyk; one sister, Olive Johnson; and one brother, Joseph Wilson.
Isabel is survived by two daughters, Ruth and husband, Minard Haney of Prince George, B.C., and Lynne and husband, Jim Oltsther, of Dryden, Ont.; two sons, Bill Harasymyk and wife, Agnes, of Hudson Hope, B.C., and Allan Harasymyk and wife, Zelda, of Prince George, B.C.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one brother, Cecil Wilson and wife, Shirley, of Barwick, Ont.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 11, 1998 at 2 p.m. at the Barwick Community Hall in Barwick. Eileen Bragg will officiate, with interment in Barwick Cemetery in Barwick.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Nugent, George Oltsher, Peter Borger, Bob Woolsey, Peter Kawulia, and Bill Clink.
