After a courageous six-year battle with cancer, and with his family by his side, Greg Perreault left this world and joined his children and family in Heaven on Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018 in Winnipeg, Man.

Greg was born on Sept. 15, 1952 in Fort Frances, Ont.

Greg moved his family to Hinton, Alta. to work for the St. Regis Paper Mill. They spent seven years there until they returned home in 1984 to Fort Frances, and then made their forever home when they moved to Couchiching First Nation in 1990 to the house he built for his family.

Greg loved travelling with his sons for baseball tournaments on weekends. He also played for the Couchiching Raiders fastball team, and also had a great time playing for the Witherspoon Whips.

Greg also made time to play slo-pitch with his family and lovingly named the team “The Bad News Bears.”

He spent many, many, many hours on Weller Lake with his sons, grandchildren, nephews, brothers-in-law, and other family members.

Later in life, Greg took the time to travel and explore many places with his wife and boys. Then after they grew up, Greg took his grandchildren with him on many adventures.

Greg is survived by his wife, Pauline; daughter-in-law, Lonnie (Mike Schmidt); and grandchildren, Mason, Alexis, and Timothy, and Sara DeGagne (great-granddaughter, Sophie).

He also is survived by his sisters, Annabelle and Genevieve (Glenn Jourdain); sisters-in-law, Judy Perreault, Sharon (Murray Strachan), Laura (David Bruyere), Mary-Lou (Terry Parks), Holly Bruyere, and Cory Fedun; brothers-in-law, Guy Bruyere, Kevin Bruyere, Russell Bruyere, and Delray (Cindy) Bruyere; and all his special nieces and nephews.

Greg was predeceased by his two wonderful sons, Nathan and Tim; his parents, George and Terese; brothers, Doug and Dennis (Spig); brothers-in-law, Russell Jourdain and Glen Bruyere; sisters-in-law, Alice Bruyere and Tina Wilson; and special niece, Katie Jourdain, and special nephew, Grant Perreault.

A celebration of Greg's life will take place Thursday, Jan. 25, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church at Couchiching, with Fr. Alan Albao officiating.

As per Greg's wishes, cremation will take place.
