GRACE ARMSTRONG

Armstrong, Grace

The family of Grace Armstrong is saddened by the loss of their mother and best friend, grandmother, and great-grandmother on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016.
She lived life to the fullest and touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
Grace loved sewing, gardening, and cooking but her greatest love was at the lake, where she and her husband, Alvin, spent many years together entertaining family and friends.
She was an avid lover of fishing and bragged about her ability to catch the most and, of course, the biggest.
Grace also loved being surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her face would light up with even the mention of their names.
She worked at Arc Industries and Sybil Russell Hall, and was a member of the C.W.L., Royal Canadian Legion Ladies’ Auxiliary, Red Hats, Overseas Wives Society, and Bereavement Club.
Grace has left to mourn her son, Larry (Debbie) Armstrong and their children, Jessica (Steve) and her children, Kelly, Kyley, Tien, and Tiffany (Ian) and her daughter, Azalea, Janice (Terry) Glowack and their children, Melissa and Crystal, and Darrell (Janey) Armstrong and their children, Erika (Everett), Jade (Ryan) and her son, Hudson, Adrian (Louise) and their children, Cheyenne and Anevay, and Corey and his children, Alyssa, Kira, and Sydney.
She also is survived by her brother, Edward Birney of Scotland; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Alvin; brother, Pete; sister, Maggie; and her parents, Peter and Grace Birney.
Grace loved spending many hours with her “special” friend, Kim.
A celebration of Grace’s life will be held Friday, Oct. 21, 2016 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Fort Frances, Ont.,with Fr. Alan Albao officiating.
An honour guard will be provided by the C.W.L. and Royal Canadian Legion Br. #29 Ladies’ Auxiliary.
