Gail Ann (Gushulak/Kittelson) Pelland passed away Saturday, June 18, 2016, with her family and friends by her side, at the Rainy Lake Medical Center in International Falls, Mn.
Gail was born July 3, 1948 in Fort Frances, Ont. to Minnie and Elmer Kittelson. She grew up on McIntyre Hill as a child and some of her greatest memories were the McIntyre Hill Gang.
Gail met the love of her life, Wayne Pelland, in the summer of 1965 and they were married on July 16, 1966. They started a family, having two children, Troy and Tina.
Gail worked at her mom’s restaurant for years, “Minnie Café.” She also worked in retail for years at Pamida and Kmart. She enjoyed working at Super Value’s service counter for many years, enjoying all the people she would meet and friendships that she made.
Gail also worked as a guard for the Boise Cascade Guard Shack. She enjoyed meeting the people coming through.
Gail enjoyed motorcycle riding back in the 1980s and bowling. She enjoyed going camping, Scrabble, cards, and crossword puzzles. Gail also enjoyed spending time on her computer playing games and meeting new friends.
Gail’s pride and joy were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, She spoiled all of them.
Gail was a woman you could sit and talk to; she would tell you point blank how it is and give you suggestions on what to do.
Gail will be missed dearly. She is loved by many and her memory will live on in our hearts forever.
Gail was predeceased by her parents; sister, Jewel Kittelson; daughter-in-law, Lisa Pelland; brother-in-law, Gene Pelland; father- and mother-in-law, Ira and Jeannie Pelland; nephew, Julian Kittelson; and lots of family and friends.
Gail leaves behind her husband, Wayne Pelland; son, Troy (Lori) Pelland; daughter, Tina Pelland; brother, Gary Kittelson; brothers-in-law, Mike (Dawn) Pelland, Curt (Arlene) Pelland, and Larry (Bev) Pelland; sisters-in-law, Linda Pelland and Jenny (Carnie) Johnson; grandchildren, Matthew (Vanessa) Pelland, Samantha Hiebert (Andy Cameron), Adam Larson (Hanna Lehman), Shania Larson, James Johnson, and Heather Johnson; and great-grandchildren, John, Noah, Ben, Easton, Brynlee, Shylynn, Austin, Ava, and Jamie.
She also is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family, and great friends.
Memorial services will be held Friday, June 24, 2016 at 2 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Internationals Falls.
