EVA AUDREY ANGUS

It is with heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of our dearly loved mom and grandmother on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at La Verendrye Hospital, with her family by her side, after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 81.

Eva was born on Aug. 2, 1937 in Barwick, Ont. to John and Ethel Irvine, and was the youngest of five children.

On April 23, 1957 she was united in marriage to John Angus, and together they settled on the farm north of Barwick. They worked side by side, whether it was in the barn with the cattle, or summer days in the hay field, always teaching us what hard work was all about.

After us two kids where raised, mom started her other working career at Helliars Resort in Nestor Falls for 16 years, until Dads health started to fail.

Mom and Dad's favorite pastime was dancing, whether it was the polka, waltz or the two-step, they would be seen gliding around the dance floor. In 1975 they started modern square dancing which mom still very much enjoyed right up until this past year.

She also enjoyed cake decorating for many weddings, reading, bowling and garage sales, with her lifelong friend Joy, as well as her passion for crocheting. Many of us will treasure her beautiful doilies, tablecloths and afghans that we received throughout the years.

Mom's main focus was always taking care of her family and always ready to lend a helping hand.

She was well known for her delicious homemade bread, buns and pies (winning her many 1st place prizes at Emo Fair). You always had to have some toast or something to eat before you left.

Eva moved to Fort Frances in 2004, to be closer to her daughter, making many new friends and did countless hours volunteering at Rainycrest.

The one thing she enjoyed each day was her walks and visit with her dear friend, Marlene, and fur baby, Sophie.

Mom showed us her true inner strength, and love for life right to the end.

Eva is survived by her daughter, Teresa (Shaun) Bagacki, of Fort Frances; her son, Terry (Suzette) Angus, of Barwick; grandchildren, Jennifer (Shaun) Kocuiba, and Craig (Ashlie) Bagacki; and seven great-grandchildren, Brandon, Kaden, Tyrell, Darrell, Leah, Even, and Alexa.

She's also survived by her sister, Ivy Angus; and sisters-in-law, Edith Irvine, Marg Irvine, Reta Westover, Grace Angus, and Joyce (Len) Jackson; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Eva was predeceased by her husband, John (2003); parents, John and Ethel Irvine; sister, Ida Galusha; brothers, Sid and Fred Irvine; parents-in-law, Leslie and Mildred Angus; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Thompson and Lois Brusven; brothers-in-law, Elwood, Arnold and Russell Angus, Ross Westover and Gene Brusven.

A time of fellowship and remembrance will be held in Eva's memory on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Northridge Funeral Home in Emo.

Private interment in Barwick Cemetery.

If desired, donations can be made in Eva's memory to the Rainycrest Auxiliary or the Emo Hospital Auxiliary, c/o Northridge Funeral Home, Box 89, Emo, ON P0W 1E0.
