Eileen Jourdain, 64, of Couchiching First Nation, Ont., passed away Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
She was born on Nov. 9, 1953 in Fort Frances to the late Kathleen and Leonard Jourdain.
Eileen was raised in Couchiching First Nation with her family.
Eileen later graduated from Confederation College with an Early Childhood Education diploma. She loved working with children and worked at 4C's from 1994 until she retired in 2012.
Eileen leaves behind her son, Aaron Jourdain (Jessica) of Newalla, Okla.; brother, Craig Jourdain (Audrey) of Rainy River First Nation, Ont.; brother-in-law, Jim Walton of Fort Frances, Ont.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Leslie Jourdain and Donald (“Squeak”) Jourdain; brother-in-law, Joe Shebagegit; and sisters Joyce Walton, Jacqueline Jourdain, and Beverly Shebagegit.
A viewing will be held Thursday, Sept. 14, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, with a prayer service starting at 11 a.m., with Fr. Alan Albao officiating.
The family invites those to a luncheon after the service at the Couchiching First Nation gymnasium.
