Edward Ernest “Ed” Watts, 40, of West Bay, Ont., and formerly of Emo, Ont., passed away suddenly Saturday, April 4, 1998 at West Bay.
Ed was born March 1, 1958 in Thunder Bay, Ont. but was raised and educated in Finland, Ont. In his younger years, Ed worked in the heavy equipment construction business. Later on, he began working in the bush as a pulpwood cutter for various local contractors as well as for himself.
Ed enjoyed the bushwork very much and excelled in this type of work. He was a hard worker, and was always there to lend a helping hand to someone in need.
Ed is survived by his two daughters, Becky and Melissa, and their mother, Toni Watts, all of Minneapolis, Mn.
Also surviving are his parents, Bill and Bev Watts of Emo, Ont.; his sister, Debbie Williamson (Bill) of Fort Frances, Ont.; two brothers, Kevin Watts (Cheryl) of Fort Frances, Ont., and Greg Watts (Melanie) of Brantford, Ont.; three nieces, Kristen and Janelle Williamson, and Heather Watts; and nephew, Jeff Watts and his special friend, Jeanette Bebonang, of West Bay, Ont.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 11, 1998 at 2 p.m. at Off Lake Covenant Church north of Emo, with Eileen Bragg officiating.
Honourary pallbearers will be Cliff Hagen, Ted Halvorsen, George Bates, Allen Caul, Don Huitikka, and Bob Bates.
