EDITH JACQUELINE AGNES AUNGIERS RAWLINS

It is with great sadness that the family and friends of Edith Rawlins announces that she peaceful was promoted to glory (passing) on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Rainycrest Long-Term Care in Fort Frances, Ont.

Edith was born on July 27, 1927 to John and Florence Rawlins in Halifax, N.S.

She moved across Canada to Vancouver, B.C. in 1945, pursuing a career as a teacher. She taught in the Anglican Church, as well as at elementary schools in Ontario, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia.

Edith married the love of her life Rev. William Giovetti, on June 28, 1952, with whom she travelled and served the Lord. They moved to Rainy River, Ont. in 1994 and then to Fort Frances in 2000, where they settled into retirement.

She was the Corps Sergeant Major (CSM) of The Salvation Army Corps and an active member of St. John's Anglican Church, where Rev. William served as an honourary assistant before his passing in 2011.

Edith will be missed by all those who deeply loved her, including her sister, Barbara (David); church members of The Salvation Army, friends, and those who were around her the last days of her life.

“A life well-lived, a comfortable passing. Thanks to all who were parts to her journey.”

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Edith's life will be held this summer.
