It is with profound sadness that the family of Donna Marie Scott, 69, of Fort Frances, Ont., announces her sudden passing on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2019 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances.
Donna was born on March 24, 1949 in Emo, Ont. to Crem and Hazel Seed. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Ryan Scott, on Oct. 20, 1967.
Donna was employed in the food industry, holding positions in numerous local establishments. She also spent many years as a dedicated stay-at-home mother and homemaker.
She began a career that she was very passionate about at Rainycrest Home for the Aged in the kitchen, later completing her health care aide certification and retired in 2009 as a health care aide.
She enjoyed crafting, quilting, sewing, and many other small projects. She also enjoyed gardening and canning with her husband, and more than anything spending quality time with her grandchildren.
Donna will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Ryan; daughter, Brenda; son, Carl (Krista); and grandchildren, Ryann and Maren and their mother, Kim, and Gareth and Lilith and their mother, Sharon.
Donna also is survived by her siblings, Edith Irvine, Lou (Ross) Brookes, Allen (Julle) Seed, Chris Ferguson, Berry Hill, (Geoff) Taylor, Bev Poton, Garnet (Kim), Robson, Fran (Bob) Mackenzie, and Sandra Robson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son, Arlan; parents, Crem and Hazel Seed; in-laws, Gordon and Myrtle Scott; and sisters, Sara Robson and Nancy Taylor.
A service of celebration and remembrance will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Northridge Funeral Home in Emo, with Pastor Jane Trivers officiating.
