CAROLINE EVELYN BOURRE

Evelyn Bourre, of Rainy River, Ont., passed away on Sunday, Nov. 19, 2017 at the Rainy River Health Centre with her family by her side.

Evelyn was born in Birch River, Man., where she grew up.

She met Chipper and they got married on Dec. 21, 1956. They settled in Rainy River and raised their family.

Evelyn had several interests. She enjoyed sewing, blueberry picking, baking for the family, and spontaneous road trips with Chipper, such as going as far as Dryden and Thunder Bay to have coffee with a friend.

Her passion was playing cards. She made many friends through her card-playing.

She also was actively involved with the Catholic Women's League.

In 1989, Evelyn became a Legion member. She was president of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary and in 2015, received a plaque in honour of her service and dedication to Legion Br. #54.

Evelyn will be greatly missed by her daughter, Barb (Marty); sons, Lenard (Michelle), Richard (Monica), Philip (Wendy), Cecil (Freda); grandchildren, Crystal (Serge), Neil, Candace, Rachel, Rebecca, Cassandra, Tegan (Aaron), Rodney (Kori), Debbie (Matt), Christopher (Rachel), Kyle, and Cecil Jr., (CJ); and great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Paige, Jemma, Hudson, Griffin, and Tucker.

She was predeceased by her Mom and Dad; brother, Albert; husband, Chipper; daughter, Debbie; and sons Leslie and James (Jimmy).

A funeral mass will be held Thursday, Nov. 23, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, followed by interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Rainy River.

The honorary pallbearers will be members of the Rainy River Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Women's League, and Evelyn's many family and friends.

The donations will go towards a “build lift” for easy ability for people to be able to come into the church.
