Betty Cox, 93, of Fort Frances, Ont., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at her home in Rainycrest Long-Term Care in Fort Frances.
Betty was born Dec. 12, 1923 in Port Huron, Mich. but spent her entire life in Fort Frances.
She married Barry Cox on Oct. 7, 1944.
Betty always was very involved with community and church activities, and often could be found visiting friends at Rainycrest.
She was a Life Member of the hospital auxiliary. Betty will be remembered fondly for her annual donation of lemon pies to the “Strawberry Social.”
Her greatest love, however, was up the lake at IdleWees, where she spent many, many years gardening, cooking, and soaking up the summer sun.
Betty was predeceased by her husband, Barry (March 30, 2009) and sister, Shirley Geil (Aug. 7, 2016).
She is survived by her son, Michael (Ann), their children and grandchild; and her daughter, Susan (Jim), their children and grandchild.
A private ceremony to celebrate Betty’s life will be held at a later date.
