ART MARTIN

Mr. Art Martin passed away unexpectedly at the age of 70 at his residence in Thunder Bay, Ont. on Tuesday, May 30, 2006.
He was born Oct. 7, 1935 in Burriss Township, west of Fort Frances, Ont. He lived and worked his entire life in various communities in Northwestern Ontario.
He was employed as a conservation officer with the Ministry of Natural Resources and retired in 1990 after 35 years of service. Art enjoyed selling real estate and finally retired again in 2000.
Art served as Master of Sioux Lookout Masonic Lodge #416 AF & AM in 1989-90, enjoying many evenings of fellowship with the Masonic Brethren. He maintained this connection as Past Master.
He is survived by daughter, Jennie Lee Rowland (Tracy) of Ventura, Calif.; son, Wade (Ashley) of Winnipeg, Man.; and three grandchildren, Winona, Alex, and Mac.
Also surviving is his mother, Eileen Martin; sister-in-law, Dianne Martin; sister, Gerry Armstrong (Edward); brothers, Rod Martin (Margaret) and Frank Martin (Renee) of Thunder Bay, Ont.; and Lyle Martin (Betty) of Fort Frances, Ont.; andspecial friends Brent Sand (Betty) of Thunder Bay, Ont.
He was predeceased by his father, Alex Martin on July 27, 1989 and his brother, Donald Earl, on May 30, 2006.
At Art’s request, cremation has taken place and no service will be held. A reception and tea was held at the Valhalla Inn in Thunder Bay on Saturday, June 3.
