ANTONY JOSEPH JACULAK

Mr. Antony Joseph Jaculak, 45, a resident of West Donald St., Thunder Bay Ont., passed away at McKellar General Hospital there Friday, May 1, 1998.

He was born April 23, 1953 in Rainy River, Ont., the youngest child of Fred and Antonina Jaculak.

Tony attended elementary and high school in Rainy River, and later graduated at the top of his commercial cooking course from Red River Comunity College in Winnipeg, Man. He worked as a cook at the Charter House in Winnipeg from 1983 until 1985. He then relocated to Iqaluit, N.W.T., where he cooked at the Baffin Regional Hospital and later the Navigator Inn.

A need for health care availability caused him to move to Thunder Bay, where he eventually would require dialysis treatment.

Tony had a jovial personality, and was a very friendly and outgoing person.

He is survived by his brothers, Bill Jaculak (Olga) of Atikokan, Ont., and their children, Joan, William, Linda, Dale, and Bonnie, and Walter Jaculak (Bertha) of Hanmer, Ont., and their children, Tracey and Troy; and sisters, Emily Parnell (Charles) of Prince George, B.C., and their children, David and Carla, and Patricia Stoyka (Frank) of Arbor Vitae, Ont., and their daughter, Jennifer, who was Tony's caregiver and support in the last six months of his life.

He was predeceased by parents, Fred and Antonina Jaculak; and by a nephew, Wilfred Jaculak.

Cremation has taken place.

A memorial service was held Wednesday, May 13, 1998 at the Community Centre in Rainy River. Alex Luczyk, from the Atikokan congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, officiated.

If friends so desire, memorials to the Kidney Foundation or the Rainy River Hospital would be appreciated.

A tree will be planted in memory of Antony Jaculak in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove.
