ALVINA BESSIE MARIA ZRUM

It is with great sadness that the family of Alvina Zrum announces her peaceful passing, with her family at her side, on Friday, May 18, 2012 at Riverside Health Care Facilities, Inc. in Fort Frances, Ont.
Alvina was born Jan. 20, 1925 in New Westminster, B.C. to Ernest and Ester Hockaday.
Alvina met her future husband, Ray Zrum, during WW II. They were wed on July 20, 1945 in New Westminster. They later moved to Fort Frances, where they raised their two children.
Alvina had a very kind, caring, and generous heart. Her greatest joy was cooking and baking for her family and friends. We all looked forward to her home-cooked meals.
She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the joy of her life. She also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She leaves behind her daughter, Norma Csik (Steve); son, Paul Zrum; and grandchildren, Sandra Csik, Steven Csik, Angel Andrushuk (Tyler), and Miranda Andrushuk (Trevor); and great-grandchildren, Kyle Aitel-Csik, Olivia Andrushuk, Alex Andrushuk, and Aaron Andrushuk.
Alvina was predeceased by her husband, Ray; parents, Ernest and Ester Hockaday; and brothers Frank, Herb, and Dave.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances, with Rev. Jacob Quast officiating.
If desired, in memoriam donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
