Wildlife officials say an aggressive black bear that attacked a forestry worker near Thunder Bay this week has been caught and put down.
Ministry of Natural Resources conservation officer Russ Johnston said the 100-kilogram male bruin was discovered in a trap in a remote area.
Johnston said the bear charged the worker from behind as he got out of his pickup truck, but backed off after the man kicked it in the head several times.
The worker was treated and released from hospital.
Johnston said the bear was healthy, with no signs of disease.
