Mini-King contest to run

The local Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Fort Frances soon will crown its first Mini-King.
The Chamber will be holding a Mini-King contest for the first time in conjunction with Mall Days on June 28.
Boys aged four-six are eligible to enter, and the contest will be modelled in the same fashion as the Mini-Queen contest which has been a part of Fun in the Sun activities for years.
Contestants will be asked questions, found on the entry form parents filled out prior to enrolling their child in the contest, and will be judged on their answers.
A winner will be crowned that same afternoon, and will ride in the Canada Day parade alongside this year’s Mini-Queen. His duties also will include taking part in some parades and events throughout the next year.
The two sponsors for the new event are Elite Plumbing (Chris Morris) and Northland Kitchen and Design Consulting (Tonia Dolph).
“Now that we have our sponsors and we know that the event is going to happen, we are really looking forward to embracing it each year as part of the FITS activities,” said Gushulak.
Application forms will be available for pick-up and drop-off at the Chamber of Commerce office on Scott Street starting tomorrow (June 7).
Only the first six applications filled out and received will be accepted.
