Local NDP to choose candidate

With a minority government in place in Ottawa, and the possibility of a spring federal election in the making, the Thunder Bay-Rainy River NDP will hold its nomination meeting tomorrow (Feb. 1).
The NDP wants to make sure it has a candidate in place—ready to run for election—in the event the Conservative government of Prime Minister Stephen Harper is defeated following a vote later this spring on the federal budget.
John Rafferty, who finished second to Liberal Ken Boshcoff in last year’s federal election, once again is seeking the NDP nomination.
