It is with profound sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Danielle Big George, 23, of Naongashiing First Nation (Big Island), Morson, Ont., on Thursday, Aug. 30, 2018 at her residence.
Danielle was born on Jan. 30, 1995 to Mary Big George and Daniel Bluebird.
Danielle embraced the culture and language. She loved her two children, Nakitah and Nokoa, with all of her heart. She was a kind and compassionate person who thought of others. She loved her family and friends.
Danielle was loved by many and will be missed by many.
She will be greatly missed by her children, Nakitah and Nokoa; parents, Mary Big George (Daryl Archie) and Daniel Bluebird (Lucinda Oja); brother, Marcus Leroy Big George; and grandmother, Janet Bluebird (George Potson).
She also is survived by her aunts, Lena Archie, Cheryl Archie, Georgina Bluebird, and Samantha Bluebird; uncles, Jamie Archie, Derek Archie, and Royce Bluebird; and numerous cousins and good friends.
She was predeceased by her great-grandmother, Margaret Big George; great-grandfather, William Copenace; grandfather, Perry Archie; and uncles, Douglas Big George, Alex Big George, Fred Big George, Kenneth Big George, Leonard Bluebird, Charlie Bluebird, Dallas Bluebird, and Melvin Big George.
A traditional wake was held on Monday, Sept. 10, 2018 at 4 p.m. at the Naongashiing First Nation Community Hall (Big Island), followed by a traditional service on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018 at 10 a.m.
Interment took place in Naongashiing Cemetery.
The pallbearers were Jaysen Indian, Brendan Big George, William Handorgan, Royce Bluebird, Jamie Archie, Rob Desjarlais, and Carl Big George Jr.
The honourary pallbearers were her closest friends and family.
