An article in last Wednesday's Times, headlined “Concerns over discarded needles addressed,” incorrectly stated about 6.5 percent of Canadians have HIV currently, with Ontario being on par to the national average.

In fact, it should have read about 6.5 per 100,000 people currently have HIV, which translates to .0065 percent.

The Times regrets any inconvenience or confusion this error may have caused.
