On July 24 around 10:55 p.m., members of the Rainy River District OPP were called to a disturbance at a gas station on King's Highway in Fort Frances.
Officers attended the area immediately and learned the suspect had fled the scene.
Members commenced an investigation and learned that three individuals had been sprayed by the suspect with a noxious substance.
All three received minor injuries.
Members of the Rainy River District OPP, the North West Region Emergency Response Team, and a canine unit conducted a search of the area but were not able to locate the male.
Following further investigation, officers arrested a 31-year-old Fort Frances man yesterday.
He has been charged with three counts of assault with a weapon, as well as possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
The accused was being held in custody pending a court appearance via teleconference later yesterday.
