After a courageous battle with cancer, Albert George Whiddon, 70, of Emo, Ont., passed away at his residence, with family by his side, on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018.
Albert was born on May 27, 1948 to William and Lena Whiddon.
He was born in Emo but lived in Armstrong, Ont. until his family moved to Kenora, Ont.
Albert went to school in Kenora, where he participated in football and track-and-field, in which he loved the relay.
Once done school, Albert moved to Winnipeg, Man. and worked for Conviron. It was at this time that Albert met and married the love of his life, Marsha Irvine.
Albert later retired and moved back to Kenora to be closer to his parents. It also allowed him to do what he loved: fish while guiding for several seasons at Halleys Camps.
Albert loved to travel, which he did whenever possible with his brother, Ken Whiddon, and good friend, Len Rattai. He also loved to fish, which he did as often as he could with Len Rattai and Steve Green.
Albert is survived by his sister, Jean Kellar (Earl); brother, Jamie Whiddon; sisters-in-law, Dale Whiddon and Darlene Whiddon; good friends, Len and Donna Rattai and Steve Green; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Marsha; sister, Betty Kellar; and brothers, Johnny and Ken Whiddon.
As per Albert's wishes, there will be no service. But we will hold a celebration of Albert's life on Friday, Aug. 10. 2019 at 1 p.m. at the Emo Legion.
