Sadly, the family announces the passing of Ann “Shirley” Berg (nee Doudiet), 72, formerly of Stratton, Ont. on July 14, 2018 at the Emo Hospital with family by her side.

Shirley was born on June 2, 1946 in Dryden, Ont. to parents Harold and Ellen Doudiet. She was united in marriage to Dale Leroy Berg on Oct. 11, 1963. Together they raised their family on the farm in Dewart Township.

Shirley was very skilled with quilting, knitting, and crochet, and gifted many handmade items to family and friends over the years. She also loved to bake cookies and breads, and always had these available for anyone that may have dropped by for coffee. Her gardens were always full of fresh vegetables and beautiful flowers.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Dale; brothers, Wayne, Alfred, Ernie, Freddie, and David; sisters, Lillian and Helen; brothers-in-law, Leonard, Laurence, Walter, Art, George, and Billy; and sisters-in-law, Lorita, Kay, Evelyn, and Edith.

She will be greatly missed by her four children, Kevin of Toronto, Curtis and wife, Sandy, of Stratton, Lionel and wife, Patty, of Fort Frances, and Cindy and husband, Maury, of Stratton; seven grandchildren, Katelyn, Tyler, Samantha, Dale, Darren, Danielle, and Jennifer; and five great-grandchildren.

Shirley is also survived by brother, Donny, and wife, Gladys; sisters, Bertha and Barbara; brothers-in-law, Bradley, and Wilmer and wife, Marjorie; sisters-in-law, Paddie, Ann, Sharleen and Grace; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

All of Shirley's family and friends will be her honourary pallbearers.

A celebration of life will be held at the Stratton Hall on Saturday, July 21, 2018 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

In memoriam, donations may be made to Emo Hospital Auxiliary or Riverside Foundation (Chemo Clinic) c/o Northridge Funeral Home, Box 89, Emo, ON P0W 1E0. Interment will take place in Pineridge Cemetery, North Branch.
