The Muskie boys' soccer team (5-0-1) swept away the competition in Kenora yesterday to finish in first place and earn a bye to the NorWOSSA final here this coming Wednesday.
James Gushulak and Cam Lidkea both scored twice to pace the Muskies to an 8-0 rout of the Dryden Eagles in their first game yesterday.
Aaron Bujold, Cole Magill, Sully Shortreed, and Nick Hahkala also tallied in the offensive outburst.
Brett Allan then had a pair of markers in a 3-0 win over the host Broncos.
Riley Argue notched the other goal.
In girls' action, the Muskies (1-4-1) dropped a 2-1 decision to Dryden before battling the Broncos to a scoreless draw.
Pasquel Shortreed had the team's lone marker against Dryden.
That left Fort High in third place—putting it into a semi-final showdown against Kenora here next Wednesday.
That winner then will face the Eagles, who have the bye to the final by virtue of their first-place finish.
In Rainy River Owls' playoff soccer action, the girls' squad nabbed a 3-1 victory over the Sioux Lookout Warriors yesterday in Red Lake to advance to today's NorWOSSA 'A' final against the St. Thomas Aquinas Saints (Kenora).
