Cloverbelt to hold first event

Category:

The Cloverbelt Local Food Co-op and La Place Rendez-Vous cordially invite you to its “Winter Farm to Fork” event.

This is our first such event in Rainy River District!

Please note the correct time for the event is 5-7 p.m. on Friday, March 23.

Call the Rendez-Vous at 274-9811 to reserve your spot as seating is limited.

“Farm to Fork” events are a great way to showcase the superb products produced by our local producers.

It also focuses your attention on the great talent of a local chef, as well as the commitment of a local business like La Place Rendez-Vous to buying local in support of local producers and our local economy.

Help make this win-win relationship a success!

Organizers of the first “Baked Potato Dinner” held Saturday evening at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Fort Frances in conjunction with St. Patrick's Day would like to thank everyone for attending and for donating so generously to the church's outreach program.

The food was fantastic and the fellowship left everyone feeling like they would love to come back next year.

The Emo and District Lions Club is looking for a local student (aged seven-15) who has type 1 diabetes as the club is willing to sponsor one camper to attend the Briardale Camp on Lake of the Woods.

For more information about the camp and to complete an online application, visit http://dcamps.ca/Summer-Camps/Camp-Briardale.aspx on the internet.

If you plan on applying, contact the club at ogilviedave@gmail.com for more information. Parents will be responsible for taking their camper to the pickup point in Winnipeg.

The club only is able to sponsor one camper. So if you and your camper are serious about applying, contact the club as soon as possible.

Anyone who would like to become a Lions' member to help with this kind of work in our area of the province should contact one of the clubs in the Rainy River District.
