Dock in park nets fine

Category:

A Vermilion Bay area man has been fined $2,000 for offences under the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act.

Robert Wisneski pleaded guilty to two counts of unlawfully causing the placement of a structure within the Eagle-Dogtooth Provincial Park.

Court heard that sometime between May 1 and May 31, 2016, Wisneski had docks constructed and placed at two locations within Eagle-Dogtooth Provincial Park.

He did so without contacting the local Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry office and applying for the proper permits.

Justice of the Peace Daisy Hoppe heard the case Feb. 8 in Dryden.

The public is reminded to contact their local Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry office prior to doing any work in a park or conservation reserve.

To report a natural resources violation, call toll-free 1-877-847-7667 any time or contact your local ministry office during regular business hours.
