Lions' golf tourney postponed

Category:

The “Lions Legacy Golf Tournament,” being organized by the Lions Clubs of Rainy River District and set for this Saturday (July 29) at Kitchen Creek, has been postponed.

Lions around the world are celebrating their 100-year anniversary and this tournament was to be the local clubs' contribution to the celebrations.

District Lions clubs will continue raising money and working on projects across the Rainy River valley.

They are grateful for the support of everyone over the past few years, and hope the residents of Northwestern Ontario will continue to help the clubs meet their objectives.

The public is invited to a “come-and-go” tea in honour of John VandenBrand's 90th birthday on Saturday, Aug. 5 from 1-3 p.m. at Hallett Hall (Rainycrest).

Best wishes only!

With the Rainy River Valley Agricultural Society's annual fall fair fast approaching (Aug. 17-19), it is time to think about putting an entry into the exhibit hall or setting up a booth in the arena.

Part of the success of the fair every year is participation so be sure to share what you've grown or made.

Check out this year's fair book for ideas and entry forms.

Fair books are available at Rainy River Drugs, Beaver Mills Market, JD Junction, Service Ontario, Emo Feed, Emo Drugs, the Hair & Body Care Shoppe, Dev-Lynne's, and the municipal offices in Emo, Devlin, and Rainy River.

They also can be picked up at Betty's, the Fort Frances Times, Fort Frances General Supply, the Fort Frances Public Library, Northwoods Gallery & Gifts, the Memorial Sports Centre, and Wilson's in Fort Frances, as well as the CC Complex (Couchiching).

Also check out the RRVAS webpage at www.emofair.com for more information about the truck raffle, the midway, and the parade.

Let's make this year's Emo Fair the best ever!
