The District Mental Health Services for Older Adults Program is pleased to present the 2012 Seniors’ Safety Calendar.
Seniors contribute greatly to our community, and the calendar was developed as a resource by providing information on various safety issues important to them.
The calendar includes messages on topics such as mental health and wellness, frauds and scams, preventing falls, medication safety, etc.
The District Mental Health Services for Older Adults Program provides psychogeriatric services throughout the Kenora/Rainy River Districts.
A program of the Canadian Mental Health Association (Fort Frances branch) and funded by the Northwest LHIN, it is a community-based service that provides direct services to individuals aged 60 and older with a serious mental health illness, Alzheimer’s disease, or a related dementia.
Interventions include counselling, comprehensive assessment, care and treatment planning and follow-up, referral and advocacy services, geriatric psychiatry, and support services to caregivers and care providers.
