ITS, Manitou to clash

If the semi-finals were any indication, goals will be awfully tough to come by this Thursday.
The Borderland Soccer League’s men’s division title will come down to the season’s top two teams after ITS and Manitou Forest Products delivered semi-final shutouts last night.

Ben Whitburn was flawless between the pipes for ITS in a 2-0 win over the fourth-place La Place Rendez-Vous Voyageurs U18 squad.
Ian Friesen and Lucas Koomans were the goal scorers against Voyageurs’ keeper Shane Beckett.
In the other semi-final, James Pavier guarded the net to perfection as Manitou edged third-place Pharmasave 1-0.
Chris Jodoin had the only marker of the game with a shot that beat Brett Bodnarchuk.
The final will go Thursday at 6:30 p.m. while the bronze-medal match between Pharmasave and the Vous goes tomorrow at 6:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, women’s semi-final action will take the field tonight when second-place Taggs faces third-place Al’s Racquet Stringing at 6:30 p.m.
The two squads have been nip-and-tuck with each other all year, with Taggs winning the season series 4-3.
The winner will play defending champion La Place Rendez-Vous in the women’s final Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
