Wolves win NAFA opener

One down, hopefully many more to go.
The Sight & Sound Wolves beat Bowen FP (Illinois) 6-2 count in their first game in the ‘A-Major’ division at the 2014 North American Fastpitch Association World Series in the Quad Cities region of Iowa and Illinois.

A four-run first inning propelled the Fort Frances-based squad to the win.
Jeff Barton led the offensive charge with a 3-for-4 outing while Vaughan Wilson went 2-for-4.
Don Gall had a game-high two RBIs.
Bob Andy threw a complete-game eight-hitter, allowing only one walk while striking out four.
Andy Gronewold was tagged with the loss.
The Wolves next faced the Kansas City (Kan.) New Age Outlaws late this morning (the outcome was unknown as of press time).
With a win, Sight & Sound will play tonight against the winner of this afternoon’s game between the Bedford Rays (Penn.) and Bushue Tree Service (Ill.)
If they lose, the Wolves drop to the losers’ bracket and next take the field tomorrow morning.
