Manitou, ITS stay tied

A five-team fight is becoming a two-horse race.
Manitou Forest Products and International Travel Services each posted wins last night to widen the gap between themselves and the rest of the Borderland Soccer League men’s division.

The teams improved to 4-1-1 as Manitou edged last-place Senior Pharmasave (1-4-1) by a 4-3 count while ITS nipped third-place Pharmasave (2-3) in a 2-1 nail-biter.
On Monday, Senior Pharmasave and the fourth-place La Place Rendez-Vous Voyageurs U18 squad (1-3-1) battled to a 4-4 tie.
In women’s division action Monday, the La Place Rendez-Vous Voyageurs U18 team (4-0-1) looked every bit worthy of its first-place status by romping to a 9-1 win over last-place Al’s Racquet Stringing (1-4-1).
Both divisions took Tuesday off due to the Canada Day holiday.
Action resumes tonight with second-place Taggs (1-2) squaring off against Al’s in women’s division play while Manitou challenges Pharmasave on the men’s side.
Games starts at 7 p.m.
