Boaters warned about debris

The Town of Fort Frances would like to remind anyone who is out boating on Rainy Lake or the Rainy River to be cautious of potential debris floating in the area.
This is due to the high water levels we’ve been experiencing over the past few weeks.

These high water levels are beginning to cause damage to lake properties and docks, and the residual debris has found its way into the waterways.
As well, we would like to remind the public that all beaches in Fort Frances are closed until further notice.
The town and the Northwestern Health Unit are taking the necessary precautions to ensure the safety of the public.
Signage has been posted at the beaches.
