Canada set for Czechs

James Reimer got the start as Team Canada took on the Czech Republic in Group ‘A’ action this afternoon at the World Hockey Championship in Belarus.
After a shocking shootout loss to France in the opener, Team Canada rebounded with a 4-1 victory over Slovakia on Saturday.

Vancouver Canucks’ defenceman Jason Garrison leads Team Canada in scoring with three points in two games.
Special teams has been a struggle for Canada so far, with just one power-play goal in eight tries while allowing four goals in seven short-handed situations to rank last in the tournament.
The Czech Republic opened with an overtime win over Slovakia, then fell to Sweden in a shootout yesterday.
Ondrej Nemec is tied for the tournament lead in scoring with four points on a team that has had six different goal scorers.
Team Canada has won three of its past four games against the Czech Republic, with the last loss coming in 2010.
Canada then doesn’t play again until Thursday against Denmark.
The U.S. faced Russia in the other game this afternoon.
