Emo pucksters enjoy busy week

In recent PeeWee action at the Emo-La Vallee Community Centre, the host Predators earned a 3-0 win over the Lions (Fort Frances).

Tyson Quibell (two) and TJ Roen tallied the goals. Travis Showalter and Rylee Caul added assists.

Then against Esso (Fort Frances), the Predators led 3-2 with about three minutes to play but the visitors stormed back to earn the well-deserved tie.

Terry Carmody, Cody McKinnon, and Tyson Quibell scored for Emo while Brian Galusha (two) and Steve Boileau replied for Esso.

Then in their third game, the Emo Predators let a two-goal lead in the third period slip away to settle for a 5-5 tie against a Fort Frances squad.

Travis Showalter led the Predators with two goals while Tyler Cottam, TJ Roen, and Terry Carmody netted singles. Brandon Roden (three), Matt Gurski, and David Ellis scored for the Fort.

Meanwhile, the Emo Bulldogs edged the ‘AA’ PeeWee (Fort Frances) 3-2 on goals by David Pollard, Tyler Hunter, and Andrew Gerley.

Tyler Miller notched both Fort Frances goals.

In Bantam action, the Emo Cowboys played excellent hosts to the Oddfellows (Fort Frances), allowing the visitors to skate home with a 3-0 victory.

Brett Perrault (two) and Josh Henry scored in that one.

In Atom action, the Emo Hawks flew all over their opponents, doubling the Emo Leafs 4-2 and then blanking the Firemen (Fort Frances) 4-0.

Against the Leafs, Ryan Witherspoon and Ash Woolsey each scored twice for the Hawks. Jared Baker and Cris Mutz tallied in a losing cause.

Ash Woolsey netted two against the Firemen, with Ryan Witherspoon and Kaitlyn Ferris bagging singles.

But the Emo Leafs bounced back against the Causeway Cougars (Fort Frances), earning a 3-0 victory on goals by Andrew Wilson, Dylan McDonald, and Jared Baker.

The Emo Selects had a tougher contest against Gillons’ (Fort Frances) but pulled out a narrow 6-4 win on five second-period goals.

Luke Judson (three), Ryan Kaemingh, Deanna Saunders, and Kurtis Hill all scored for Emo while Mitch Carlson, Neil Roy, Joe Basaraba, and Matt Hebert replied for Gillons’.

Both Emo Novice teams could not maintain the pressure from visiting teams. The Rockets found it difficult to match sticks with Tagg’s (Fort Frances), ending up on the short end of a 3-1 score.

Brett Bodnarchuk, Brendon Cawston, and Mike Andrusco found the netting for Tagg’s while Seth Hellinga notched Emo’s lone goal.

And the Emo OPP never did find the range against visiting Skates and Blades (Fort Frances), being run over 9-2.

Matt Goldamer had four goals to pace the visitors, with Erika Anderson and Jeff Cridland adding a pair apiece. Daniel Brunetta netted their other goal.

Keith McTavish scored both OPP markers.
