As lay preacher and founder of the “Life Chain” event, I feel it would be beneficial to share some facts about this year’s “Life Chain” in your area.
It will be unusual in that the Canadian one will take place the weekend before the one in U.S. In Fort Frances and Rainy River District, it is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 30 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Scott Street.
The purpose of this event is to gather pro-life people from all different faith backgrounds to unite for one single hour of silent prayer and public witness to help loosen the grip that abortion has over North America and the world.
In particular, I would like to appeal to all church leaders in your district to help and support this worthy cause. We believe that only the efforts of the churches—through the leadership of their priests and pastors—can end legalized abortion.
This is a spiritual battle that government cannot comprehend. Pastoral leadership is absolutely essential and we must all look to our church leaders for strong support in this matter.
