Opening of ‘The Gin Game’ postponed

Fort Frances Little Theatre’s production of “The Gin Game” is cancelled for this evening and instead likely will open at the Townshend Theatre tomorrow night.

“We apologize,” Cathy Richards, a long-time actress and director with the local theatre group, said this morning.

“It’s due to circumstances beyond our control. It was either postpone it, or cancel it altogether,” she added.

Until further notice, the play will go ahead as scheduled tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. and again at the same time Saturday. A Sunday matinee is slated to be staged at 2:30 p.m.

“The Gin Game,” directed by Naomi Woods and based on the award-winning play by D.L. Coburn, relates the story of two senior citizens living in a rest home.

Tickets for “The Gin Game,” which cost $10 each, are available at the Fine Line Art Gallery, Northwoods Gallery & Gifts, and at the door.

For opening night and the matinee, a group rate for 20 or more will see the ticket cost reduced to $5 per person.
