A pilot and three passengers escaped serious injury when their plane crash-landed at the Fort Frances Airport early Saturday afternoon.
Fort Frances OPP reported a single-engine Cessna made an emergency landing attempt at the airport around 12:30 p.m.
But because of possible mechanical problems, the plane landed short of the runway, skidded across a grassy area, and came to rest in a ditch, police said.
All four were taken to La Verendrye hospital, where they were treated and released, police added.
The cause of the crash is under investigation by the transportation safety board and Fort Frances OPP.
