Whitehead repeats

Taylor Whitehead will be on the road again.
The Muskie badminton player is the only local representative bound for the NWOSSAA championships after winning his second-straight NorWOSSA senior boys’ singles crown yesterday in Kenora.

Whitehead, who finished ahead of silver-medallist Tyler Neil of the host Kenora Broncos, took the NorWOSSA title last year as a Grade 9 participant.
He then wound up making it all the way to OFSAA.
Whitehead will try to reach the all-Ontarios two years in a row when he hits the court in Wawa for the NWOSSAA playdowns next Wednesday (April 16).
Winning in Wawa means Whitehead will travel to Markham for the OFSAA playdowns May 1-3.
The Broncos, meanwhile, won the senior team trophy with 31 points—just nipping the second-place Atikokan High School Voyageurs (30).
The St. Thomas Aquinas Saints from Kenora was third with 22.
Atikokan claimed the junior team trophy with 36 points, followed by Beaver Brae (34) and St. Thomas Aquinas (16).
