The Muskie boys’ hockey team was blanked 4-0 by the Kelvin Clippers in their first game of the annual SJR tournament in Winnipeg last night.
Kelvin grabbed a 1-0 lead after the first and extended it to 3-0 through two.
John Zub took the loss for the Muskies despite stopping 17 of 21 shots. The black-and-gold mustered just 14 shots on goal.
“I thought the play was pretty even,” said Muskie head coach Glen Edwards, who was impressed considering his team had lost 7-0 to Kelvin at a tourney in Winnipeg earlier this month.
The Muskies then lost 5-3 to Sisler in their second game this afternoon. Terry Kellar, Jon Woodgate and Jamie Krukowski scored for the black-and-gold.
They’ll wrap up pool play later today against Miles-Mac.
Fort High is the two-time defending champion of this 12-team tourney.
