Tickets on sale for breakfast

The Fort Frances Kiwanis Club once again will be holding a Good Friday community breakfast this year, with tickets now on sale.
The breakfast will take place Friday, April 18 at 8 a.m. at La Place Rendez-Vous.

Tickets cost $10 each, which are available at Green’s Brandsource and Lidkea Optometry, as well as various Kiwanians including Diane Maxey (274-7309).
Maxey, who is spearheading plans for the breakfast, said the club is hoping it is well-attend.
She added the sooner people buy tickets, the better.
Not only is it possible the event will sell out, but knowing how many people are coming helps Rendez-Vous staff prepare, Maxey noted.
She also said people won’t be able to buy tickets at the door.
As in past years, there will be a full breakfast buffet featuring eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, and more.
Lt. Dennis Maybury of the local Salvation Army will be the guest speaker.
The “Fort Harmonies,” the choir led by Maxey, will provide the music.
For those who have not attended the Good Friday breakfast before, Maxey said the event is non-denominational and everyone is welcome.
She added that it won’t run too long, and will be over in time for anyone planning to attend any morning church services at 10 a.m.
The Good Friday breakfast was started back in 1994 by Kiwanis past governor Ken Koprowski.
The purpose of the event is to celebrate Good Friday in a spirit of unity with a non-denominational event.
It’s also a way for the Kiwanis to say “thank you” to the public for its support.
Both the club and Rendez-Vous subsidize the actual cost of the meal so people are getting it for an affordable price ($10).
Its true cost actually is higher than that.
