KENORA, Ont. —That’s one grumpy old man.
An OPP officer got more than he bargained for when he pulled over an 85-year-old driver on the weekend.
Police say they were on the lookout for a vehicle with expired plates when they spotted it on Highway 17 east of Kenora.
When the elderly driver learned he was getting a ticket, he began kicking the police cruiser.
And after being told his vehicle would have to be towed, police said he punched the officer in the chest and pushed him.
The man also kicked the officer while he was being arrested and placed in the back of the cruiser.
He was detained but later “released unconditionally” to relatives, police said.
Michael Marcyniuk of Sioux Lookout, Ont. has been charged under Ontario’s Highway Traffic Act with driving a motor vehicle without a current validated permit.
