Muskie girls win in rout

A change of venue didn’t mean a change in fortune for the Muskie girls’ hockey team.
Shilo Beck netted a hat trick as the black-and-gold upped their NorWOSSA record to a flawless 12-0 with an 11-0 rout of the host Sioux Lookout Warriors on Thursday night.

Fort High, which had bombed the Warriors 15-0 here back on Jan. 30, raced out to a 4-0 lead on goals by Kaily Greengrass, Beck, Katie Sinclair, and Sarah Milling.
Hailey Clendenning notched the lone goal of the second before the Muskies carved up their hosts with a six-goal outburst in the third.
Practice roster call-up Rylee Redford made it 6-0 before Greengrass tacked on her second and Beck completed her hat trick.
Rachel Jean and Amy Penner finished off the barrage.
Calie Clendenning, meanwhile, blanked the Warriors for the second-straight time.
The Muskies next head to Kenora today to take on the St. Thomas Aquinas Saints to begin a three-game final week of the NorWOSSA regular season.
The Dryden Eagles visit tomorrow for a 7 p.m. match-up at the ’52 Canadians Arena in what’s a likely preview of the league final.
The Muskies then head to Red Lake on Thursday to complete their schedule.
The NorWOSSA semi-finals begin Feb. 21.
