OPP, water rates on council agenda

Town council will receive the annual police services’ activity report from OPP detachment commander Inspector S. Shouldice at its regular meeting tonight.
Council also could decide on water and sewer rates for 2014.

A new rate scenario, based on input provided at a budget meeting last Tuesday, will be presented to council for approval.
The council portion of tonight’s meeting is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
The committee of the whole will meet first starting at 5:30 p.m., but will be in-camera (behind closed doors) until 7:05.
Business on the in-camera agenda includes potential property dispositions (re: Front Street and the Rainy Lake Hotel) and personnel matters (re: the positions of town clerk and human resources manager).
Other business on the agenda tonight includes:
•an advertising request from the Ontario Filmmaker Directory re: 100th anniversary promotion;
•a bylaw to approve an agreement with 539989 Ontario Ltd., doing business as North Air Services, for provision of Dial-a-Ride services in the Town of Fort Frances; and
•a bylaw to approve a contract with Lakeside Process Controls Ltd. for support services re: Emerson Process Management control systems installed at the wastewater and water treatment plants here.
