Skiers found safe

On Tuesday around 7 p.m., Thunder Bay OPP responded to a report of two females who were lost on the cross-country ski trails in Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park.
The females had gotten turned around on one of the trails and could not find their way out to the parking lot, and they were becoming cold and tired.

Officers from the OPP’s North West Region Emergency Response Team immediately were activated in order to conduct a search for the females.
Officers used snowmobiles to patrol the trails in a quick and effective manner.
The females were located and provided extra clothing to keep them warm while being transported to the parking lot, where they were warmed in the police vehicle.
The pair did not require any medical assistance.
