Boston Pizza International Inc. announced this week it is actively seeking a franchisee in Fort Frances as part of its rapid growth across Ontario.
Boston Pizza now has 65 locations in Ontario and plans to open up to 40 new stores across Canada this year.
“The opening of Boston Pizza in Fort Frances will create 80-100 new jobs,” said George Heos, Boston Pizza International vice-president of franchise development for Eastern Canada.
“We’re proud to contribute to Fort Frances’ economic growth with the arrival of Boston Pizza,” he added.
Boston Pizza has more than 265 locations across Canada and serves more customers annually than any other casual dining concept—generating annual system sales in excess of $550 million in 2005.
“Boston Pizza franchisees have been extremely successful right across Canada, and we’ve had particular success with our stores in Northwestern Ontario,” said Heos.
“In the region, Boston Pizza has locations in Kenora and Thunder Bay, and is looking to expand to Dryden, in addition to Fort Frances.”
For entrepreneurs wanting to get into business, franchising offers the best of both worlds—the opportunity to own and manage a business while leveraging the strength of an established brand and proven business model.
“Boston Pizza is committed to ensuring the success of each individual franchisee,” said Richard Enright, who operates seven Boston Pizza restaurants in Winnipeg, three in southwestern Ontario, and will be opening a fourth in Ontario this spring.
“Once you’re on board, Boston Pizza helps you find the right location, provides intensive training and operational support,” he added. “They’re there every step of the way.”
“You go into business for yourself, not by yourself,” said Boston Pizza president Mark Pacinda. “Franchisees purchase two things—our brand and our system.”
“Fort Frances is an ideal community for a Boston Pizza restaurant,” noted Heos. “[It] has the right demographic for Boston Pizza, is the perfect location to support good customer traffic, and is a growing community which will benefit from having a new dining alternative.”
