Frigid temps to hold fast

Tonight temperatures will drop to minus-36 C (33 below zero F) under patchy clouds. Light west winds around five-10 km/h will be felt.
Tomorrow will be just as cold, and while there will be some sun, the high will only reach minus-25 (13 below), with the low dropping to a frigid minus-35 (31 below).

Northwest winds will pick up to five-15 km/h.
Wednesday is expected to be partly sunny, with a high of minus-21 (six below) and a low of minus-34 (29 below).
The extended outlook calls for Thursday to be sunny, with a high of minus-22 (eight below) and a low dipping to minus-30 (22 below).
The record high for today is two (36) set in 1949, while the record low is minus-39 (38 below) set in 1967. Normals are minus-nine (16) and minus-20 (four below).
