Man killed in crash

Thunder Bay OPP responded to a single-vehicle collision on Highway 11/17 near Finmark Road yesterday around 3:10 p.m.
A Ford truck was eastbound when the driver lost control of the vehicle, entered the east ditch, and rolled over.

A large fuel tank in the bed of the truck moved forward through the passenger compartment of the vehicle.
The 27-year-old male driver from Keswick, Ont. was taken to hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.
The male passenger, identified as John Lackey, 55, of Keswick, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The highway was closed for about nine hours while police investigated.
Also yesterday afternoon, four people suffered non-life threatening injuries in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 61 south of Mount Forest Boulevard.
Police said the driver of a southbound Nissan truck lost control of the vehicle, which crossed over into the northbound lane and collided with a GMC Yukon.
The male driver of the Nissan was charged with making an unsafe lane change.
